Bombardier delivered its first Global 8000 business jet during a ceremony in Mississauga, Ontario, on December 08. The event featured the official handover to the launch customer, Patrick Dovigi.
The Global 8000 enters service following certification by Transport Canada and completion of its flight test program. Bombardier states the aircraft is now the fastest in business aviation since the Concorde.
The aircraft achieves a maximum speed of Mach 0.95 and a range of 8,000 nautical miles. The cabin maintains a low altitude of 2,691 feet, which the manufacturer claims is the lowest in its class.
Transport Canada’s certification process required the aircraft to meet both speed and range targets as well as cabin comfort standards. The flight test program concluded earlier this year, enabling the first delivery.
